Narragansett Waves Ice Hockey Team
2008 - 2009
The Narragansett Waves Hockey Team is intended for younger hockey
players, grades 5-8. We are part of the Rhode Island Junior Development
League South (RIJDL). We will stress hockey skills, sportsmanship and
team play, with a quality program that will be one of competitiveness to
transition players from a junior high school level to a high school
level. Although no skills are required, you may be playing alongside
experienced hockey players, some of who can play very well. However, it
is still a learning experience and players of all levels are welcome,
although it is preferred that they have some experience on ice skates.
All teams are co-ed and include checking. There are no tryouts and
everyone gets playing time.
The team will be playing other RIJDL teams from the southern part of the
state at St. George’s rink in Middletown. The player registration cost
for the season will be $100.00. The registration fee, along with
generous donations from the Town of Narragansett and the Narragansett
Fire and Police Departments, includes participation in RIJDL, game ice
time, game referee costs, jerseys, and hockey socks for the players. For
more information contact Jill Morvan 792-8691
