Community Events
Concert on the Beach: ( Annual performance)
The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra performs on Narragansett's Town Beach during the second week of July. This event represents the largest single community activity conducted by the Town with approximately 12,000-15,000 in attendance, annually. The event is free to the public, but the $18,000-$20,000 event is subsidized through corporate and business sponsorships, individual donations, parking fees, T-shirt sales and proceeds from a pre-concert reception held the evening of the show.
Summer Concert and Event Series
The Summer concert series is made up of approximately 8-10 separate concerts conducted in Casino Park on either Friday or Saturday evenings from late June through Labor Day. The shows are usually 1.5-2 hours in length and typically begin at 6:00 pm.
Depending on the concert the crowds vary in size from 100 to 1,000.
Pumpkin Festival This event is held at the Beach Clubhouse on the Town Beach, where a pumpkin patch appears, around Halloween. The event includes hayrides, face painting, story telling, cookie decorating, life-size characters, and pumpkin painting. You also get to pick your Halloween pumpkin from a very sandy pumpkin patch.

The Winter Holiday celebration begins with the Festival of Lights in Narragansett. This week of activities includes the Chamber of Commerce Holiday Ball, the Pier Plunge, Kids Shopping Day, the Friends of the Towers Road Race, Breakfast with Santa, Holiday Storytelling, Crafts for Kids, Ice Sculptures, Ice Skating, and live music. The week is completed with the lighting of a Holiday Tree, the arrival of Santa Clause and a spectacular fireworks display off the Town Beach.

The FIRMMAN Half-Ironman Triathlon presents some of the most difficult challenges that an athlete can face. The event is co-sponsored by the Recreation Department and Fiske Independent Race Management (F.I.R.M.). The race involves a 1.2 mile ocean swim, 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run. The race begins and ends at the Town Beach while the course takes the competitors through Narragansett, South Kingstown, Charlestown, Westerly, and North Kingstown. The participants receive awards based on individual, team, and club performance. The event is conducted on the weekend after Labor Day in September.
