ear Fellow Lions:

I would like to personally thank the Lions, family members, sponsors and the Narragansett community for making the Blessing such a success. I hope that all your staff shirts have dried out by now after the torrent of showers we received on Friday night but, even thunder and lightening couldn’t stop us. We have an incredible club as shown by the level of commitment of old members and new members. It was great to see so many new members take their oath seriously by stepping up to the plate and helping out.

Here are some tidbits of information about the Blessing. We had 3751 runners/walkers. The winning time was 52 minutes. Our guests consumed 63 kegs of the finest tap beer over the weekend. We had an abundance of sunshine at The Blessing of the Fleet in Galilee on Saturday. The parade of boats lasted for over 1 ½ hours. There were many dignitaries on hand to watch the festivities. The new boardwalk at Galilee made it more pleasurable for viewers this year. On Saturday afternoon at the field, the children’s activities, a new event, drew rave reviews from all who attended. We had a record clean up on Sunday morning. Many thanks to all the early risers who assisted as well as to those who came down on Monday night for the final cleanup. Check out the pictures and race results on the website: http://www.narragansettri.com/lions/.
