In
addition to the causes and charities listed below, the Narragansett
Lions Club gives approximately 40% of its annual budget directly
to families and individuals in need. We provide such things as heating
oil, food, medical equipment, and cash for those who are in crisis. We
do not disclose the names of those who receive this kind of aid.
R.I. LIONS SIGHT FOUNDATION
The Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation was founded in 1961 as the
charitable arm of the Lions Clubs of Rhode Island for the preservation
of sight and aid to the visually impaired.
Through the generous support of Lions Clubs International Foundation,
the Sight Foundation has been awarded a grant for Lions 4 Sight
children’s vision screening program. Lion’s volunteers are being trained
statewide to conduct screening sessions: goal 10,000 children. 2003 Lion
‘s 4 Sight Golf Tournament will help support vision screenings in your
area.
